Three new state lottery games set to debut One of them, Oklahoma Cash 5, comes with a top cash prize of $25,000

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Oklahoma Lottery Commission announced three new games Thursday, including Oklahoma Cash 5, which comes with a top cash prize of $25,000.

Oklahoma Cash 5 tickets are scheduled to go on sale at 4 a.m. Friday.

"The idea is for something new, fresh," said Jim Scroggins, the Oklahoma Lottery's executive director. "Players always look for a new game, a new idea."

To play the Oklahoma Cash 5 game, players select five numbers between one and 36.

Players win by matching at least two numbers selected during a drawing at 9:10 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday.

In addition to the top prize, players also can win free tickets or lesser cash prizes, depending on how many numbers they match.

Revenue from the game is expected to range between $300,000 and $400,000 per week, officials predict.

The Labor Day holiday marks a good time to start the new games, Scroggins said.

Not only is it a long weekend, but football season is beginning, school has started again and people are getting back into their regular routines, which he says helps boost lottery ticket sales.

Scroggins said recently that high gasoline prices and other factors hampered lottery sales this summer.

Other games include two new "scratch-off" tickets, including a Monopoly theme and "Football Fever," which features game cards in University of Oklahoma red and Oklahoma State University orange hues.

Both games come with a $500 top prize.

Tulsa ticket set to expire: Also, Scroggins said, a $400,000 Powerball lottery ticket that was sold in Tulsa expires Sept. 28.

The ticket was purchased at the QuikTrip at 9037 S. Yale Ave. for the April 1 drawing.
